Crochet Workshop

This Saturday we're holding another beginners crochet workshop, in the shop at 2pm. All welcome.

As a complete beginner you will learn how to make a granny square, which you can make as large as you wish, and turn into a cushion cover or blanket. Hook & first ball of yarn will be provided and the cost is £7.50.

If you've been to a crochet workshop before, you'll now have the basic knowledge needed to create

a garden square, like the one above or a cobweb sqaure like the one below and I'll show you how to do these. Cost to second crochet workshop visitors £5.

Morning petal

Firstly, Happy Mothering Sunday to all mums out there.

Yesterday at our workshop we gave spring a helping hand, and made some blossom. It was a a relaxed afternoon of stamping & painting little bits of paper, which we then screwed up! I guess you had to be there.

Anyway, I hope you'll agree the finish branches are very pretty.

There we are, a small selection of our adorned twigs & branches. Simple, but effective.

Easy, cheap & great therapy for a winters afternoon.

Back to normal

It was great to be back to our usual Saturday afternoons of creativity. This time it was Tunisian crochet which was keeping us quiet as we all concentrated hard to master this new technique.

Likened to a cross between knitting & crochet, it isn't really that difficult and I'm pleased to report even those who previously would rather have eaten glass than crocheted! actually managed it admirably.

Baaaaaa humbug

Brrrrrrr said Rosie this morning, as she picked her way through the frozen puddles and into the mist.

What would we find lurking over the hill??????

Remains of a sheep???

No! we didn't find a thing. This is the early stages of yesterdays sheep creating workshop.

We held another 'free range' felting workshop on Saturday. Most chose to make a sheep brooch or hanging, inspired by a beautiful brooch Sue had bought. Here are some of our sheep ....

Flower power

Last Saturday we held a Felted Flower workshop. Participants were given the choice of needle felting a flower, or using flat sheet felt. Many chose to do both, which produced some very pretty results. Here are some photo's taken on the day.

..............and relax

What better way to end a stressful week than with some needle felting. Oh, the rhythm of stabbing small particles of fibre cannot be beaten. Add to that a handful or two of lavender and you have the perfect afternoon. So that is just what we did on Saturday afternoon.
