Wow! so many people want to learn to crochet right now. It's fantastic! I love passing on the beginnings of a craft that might completely take over someones life.
As a warning to our newbie crocheters yesterday I did wear the dress I'd crocheted, just so they were aware of how additive this hobby can become!
There were one or two ladies who I feel may have doubted the impact crochet might have on their lives, as they struggled, as we all do in the early days, to grasp hook, yarn and an ever growing piece of fabric, whilst trying to keep an even tension, and work out which is the last stitch on the row.But they all got there in the end, and everyone left clutching the beginning of a cotton face cloth.
Our improvers group effortlessly moved onto crocheted granny squares and working in rounds like they'd been born with crochet hooks in their hands.
Well, done ladies, you did brilliantly. A little more practise and you'll be knocking out crochet clothing for all the family. You have been warned!
Our next Beginners and Improvers session is on Sunday 23rd October at 2pm in the shop.
