Next weekend Hathereligh hosts it's Festival with music and entertainment throughout the weekend. This week, in the run up there are workshops & exhibitions to keep you busy. Knit & Natter was asked if we'd like to take part, and we are delighted to do so, with our exhibition of knitted & crocheted Doorstops.
Here is a little taster, but you really must get yourselves along to the shop window to take a look.
This was a late entry, but we couldn't leave it out. The toadstool top is stuffed with dried herbs, so smells wonderful too.
I think they all look great. Congratulations ladies.
Some doorstops are for sale.
Between the sunshine and the very heavy rain this morning I took delivery of some lovely thing from newish company Dots & Spots.
Featuring bunting, camper vans, beach huts and hens, I am pretty sure this range will bring a smile to your face.
I'm especially looking forward to using this sticky tape. It could jazz up a whole host of things.
We have in stock some deliciously scented Reed Diffusers. My favourite fragrance of Fig is combined with Amber to make a heady blend, perfect for a living room.
The other fragrances are Lemongrass & Lime, which would be great for a kitchen area and Lavender & Geranium, for bathrooms & bedrooms.
Whilst we're on a fragrant note I think I forgot to mention some new cold processed soaps we have from a lovely lady called Emma who lives in south Devon.
Along with smelling divine, Emma concentrates on the use of the oils in her soaps, allowing the customer to choose an oil best suited to their skin.
All the soaps are wrapped in cotton cloth which can be reused in a variety of ways. I favour the buy lots of soap and make a patchwork quilt idea!
Guest or treat sizes also available.
I think I'll offer a free bar of soap to the person with the most ingenious idea for recycling the cotton wrapping.
Post your suggestions in the comments box below. Good luck.
Maybe you often wander into the shop for a browse. Maybe you peek through the window but have never ventured in. Maybe you live too far away to call in. No matter how infrequently you visit, a warm reception always awaits you.
Come and see what we're about..................
As you can see we have a huge selection of goodies.
Christmas candles & decorations
This is our workshop/knit & natter table. Many a tale this table could tell!
And a good selection of yarn from most of the major companies

We are open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. I'm often there on a Monday too. Any other time just knock on Jane's door. She really doesn't mind! A notice on the shop door will help you find her.
Knit & Natter is held 7.30pm every Tuesday & Thursday. A full programme of workshops is available too, to keep us all busy through the winter.
Well, I look forward to seeing you soon.
Tah dah! Our new paint job is complete - and I love it.

Hope to see you soon
I read this morning (yes, on 'my' paper round!!), that we are due a couple of lovely weeks of sunshine. Lets hope its true. Certainly there have been some beautiful days recently and today has the same promise.
However, which ever way you dress it up winter is not too far away now, but if we can keep it at bay for a little bit longer, that will give us time to knit something warm and cosy.
So, how about these lovely Sock Kits which arrived this week..............
They come complete with self patterning yarn, needles and pattern.
Out on the Moor type colours
Pretty with a hint of pink.
Make great Christmas gifts don't you think?
So, we've all been beavering away, busy making our blankets. Now some of us have finished, some of us are nearly finished, some of us just wish we were finished! and just a few of us haven't yet started, because they can knock up a beautiful blanket in an afternoon!
Today I decided to empty my bag
and see just how many squares I'd made
Mmmm, a fair few - will it be enough though?
Unfortunately not!
Keep going girls - they're going to look fantastic.
The lovely Sue Rogers comes regularly to Knit & Natter and sits quietly in her place, creating the most beautiful bags.
THEN tells us that she's going home to throw them in the washing machine!
We gasp with horror!
But, just look at the results...................
Gorgeous felted bags in scrumptious colours
All made with pure wool, felted & finished to perfection.
And now available from Angels & Petals.
An inspirational gift & craft shop in a pretty market town.
