Ladies, I'm delighted to say that our Angel order has arrived, and it is really lovely yarn.
For a limited time I'm offering a free Debbie Bliss magazine with 6 or more balls of Angel. Or 50% off the magazine with 3 or more. The magazine has some really gorgeous patterns for this yarn. Or just be creative. 2 balls knitted or crocheted on big needles/hook would make a yummy shawl.
In the same delivery came Debbie Bliss Eco Baby Cotton in a selection of soft colours. This is a fair trade organic cotton, which is suitable for far more than just baby knits. Guilt free pleasure!
I'm away for a few days now, but Jane will have the shop open as usual.
It was with some degree of sadness that those of us who love to crochet with the cotton yarns, realised Kontiki is being discontinued.
But fear not......................
We have now received our stock of Rico cotton. Lots of yummy colours (pic doesn't do them justice) and I'd say a pretty good substitute for kontiki.
Don't forget cushions for May & Doorstops for July - if you're looking for a reason to use them!!
...........about the new Debbie Bliss Magazine which has now arrived.
The new Angel yarn - which we should have in stock any day now - is featured quite heavily.
All the garments are very pretty and the magazine has a very feminine feel.
Thankfully some are both beautiful & simple.
There are some more practical patterns too.
And some for kiddies. Including some gorgeous little dresses.
It's worth noting that for the first time ever this magazine has only completely new patterns from DB. Previously it was always a 50/50 mix of new and previously published. All new this time. Lovely!
Hatherleigh is a town of many dogs, so when I came across these hooks depicting many of the breeds I see when I'm out & about with my two, I knew I had to stock them.
Of course we had to have one of these for our house too.
This is a smart little chap isn't it?
There might be a fight for this one. Plenty Labs in town.
Nice to see a really golden Goldie.
The lead will never be on this hook with the amount of exercise they need!
We have in stock some deliciously scented Reed Diffusers. My favourite fragrance of Fig is combined with Amber to make a heady blend, perfect for a living room.
The other fragrances are Lemongrass & Lime, which would be great for a kitchen area and Lavender & Geranium, for bathrooms & bedrooms.
Whilst we're on a fragrant note I think I forgot to mention some new cold processed soaps we have from a lovely lady called Emma who lives in south Devon.
Along with smelling divine, Emma concentrates on the use of the oils in her soaps, allowing the customer to choose an oil best suited to their skin.
All the soaps are wrapped in cotton cloth which can be reused in a variety of ways. I favour the buy lots of soap and make a patchwork quilt idea!
Guest or treat sizes also available.
I think I'll offer a free bar of soap to the person with the most ingenious idea for recycling the cotton wrapping.
Post your suggestions in the comments box below. Good luck.
Congratulations to all who managed to master the art of turning crochet rounds into granny squares, on Saturday.
The hardest was working out how to wrap the yarn around your fingers, hold the yarn AND work a hook!
But with a bit of practise, tea & chocolate biscuits, it all seemed to come together.
And before we knew it we had granny squares to be proud of.
Well done girls. Now you can do anything!
This Saturday there is a chance to come back and practise a little bit more if you wish. Cost £2
Also we will be running the Needle Felting workshop that I had to cancel a fortnight ago. If you'd like to have a go at needle felting, there is a chance to make a design on flat felt and turn it into a lavender filled heart. 2pm start. Cost £6.50
An inspirational gift & craft shop in a pretty market town.
