IN THE SHOP 2pm.
The cost is £6.50, which will include a ball of yarn & a crochet hook for you to take away.
If you'd like to have a go at this popular craft, just turn up & we'll show you how.
In the July edition of Country Homes & Interiors there is a little photo of a Green gate blanket which caught my eye straight away.
I loved the colours and the idea of mixing up the crochet stitches. And so began my hunt for yarn.
It would have been easy to do it in cotton yarn as they have done, there being a huge range of colours of cotton available, but I'd got it into my head I wanted to do it in chunky yarn. Probably the weather to blame for that train of thought! It proved a lot more difficult to find shades anything like the ones pictured.
Anyway, after much hunting, taking into account cost, meter-age, wool content etc etc I decided upon King Cole Magnum Chunky. This is what it looks like so far.........
Whilst the colours are not the same I think you can still see where my inspiration came from. It should be finished about this time next year!
We are now stocking Magnum Chunky in Crafty Angel.
But I'll say it again - You can't beat a afternoon of ripping & sticking.
And that's just what we did this Saturday, when we decopatched some flowers to brighten our homes & gardens.
With the odd butterfly thrown in for good measure.
Getting messy, drinking tea & having a laugh. That's what Saturday afternoons were meant for.
My rainbow blanket, inspired by a piece Lewie did in his art lesson, has been finished for a week or so now, but I wasn't quite happy with it.
So decided to back it - and I like it so much more.
Edged & backed in a bright and fun seaside fabric, its just waiting for me to throw it down on an empty beach on a sun filled, child free day & relax.
Yeah, could have a long wait!!
How we love our chickens in Hatherleigh!
I don't think I've met anyone yet who hasn't either got hens, or desperately wants them. Not only do we want them for their eggs, but for their beauty and comedic value too.
So, I'm always delighted to find new ones to add to the shop.........
And when they come lavender scented in Cath Kidston fabric........
Perhaps unless you're a little bunny?
An inspirational gift & craft shop in a pretty market town.
