Two Angels - angels & petals AND crafty angel

I put my dogs down, and worked in the ditch!

Don't panic! They're quilting terms. Dogs are fine & this is no weather for ditch work!

No, what I mean is I finished my quilt. A little behind the lovely ladies of K&N, but it's done, so Ithought I'd show you.

 
I started with the same Moda charm pack as Chrissie (see previous post) but decided to add in some more squares, using fabric from my stash, to make it a bit bigger.

 
As you can see I quilted every square. That's the 'working in the ditch' bit. Not an easy task I can tell you - but I'm pleased I had a go.

 
I recon I'm all ready for a sleep over now. Anyone having one???

Double fun

Don't you just love double sided wrapping paper?

It lends itself to so much more than just wrapping presents.

 
Personally I feel some more bunting coming on!

Busy girls

Firstly I must show you what Chrissie's granddaughter Isabelle did on Sunday..................................
She knitted her little owl a jumper. How cute does she look? (both the owl & Issy)

Her Granny was busy too. Chrissie managed to find time to whip up a lovely quilt using the Moda charm packs as a starting point..........

 
A pretty quilt with a very Cath Kidston feel.

Maureen has been busy too. Popping into our Monday morning drop in sessions for a wee bit of guidance, she's managed to make this fab quilt.......................

 
The charm pack was called Hullabaloo, which really appealed to Maureen and I think she's done a great job of putting it all together.

Well done girls. I'm looking forward to seeing your next ones.

Button it

Just had to pop in a show you these lovely vintage inspired wooden buttons.

 
Just need to decide what to make to sew then onto now. Could be an excuse to make another quilt!

Bags & bags of style

I have a confession to make. I forgot to take pictures during today's workshop- aaaarrrggghhh!!!

I'm so sorry girls, your bags looked absolutely lovely too. Far nicer than mine, which all I was left with at the end when I remembered. I must just say a special blog congratulations to Chrissie's granddaughter Isabelle, who made by far the best bag. Apologies for not photographing it.

 
Here are my bags - as you can imagine they can be all sizes and are really strong too. Recycling at it's best.

On Screen

Once again C.A. was a hive of activity this weekend when we held a screen printing workshop.

 
Tea towels were laid out, screens chosen and inks applied.

Oh happy days

Between the sunshine and the very heavy rain this morning I took delivery of some lovely thing from newish company Dots & Spots.

 
Featuring bunting, camper vans, beach huts and hens, I am pretty sure this range will bring a smile to your face.

 
 
I'm especially looking forward to using this sticky tape. It could jazz up a whole host of things.

Granny gone mad

What's a girl to do when she can't stop crocheting granny squares?

Every one she knows has a granny square blanket. Every coaster in the house is a granny square, even the dog has a granny square blanket.

Well, this is one idea...........

Stained glass Sunday

Following our visit from local stained glass artist Nikki Coombs, last year, we were eager to have her back again. This time we thought it would be fun to make some glass bunting, threaded together with pretty ribbon. Here are a couple of pictures of how we got on.

 
The ladies chose their colours, cut them into triangles and wrapped the edges in copper wire. Out with the soldering iron and tah dah...........................

 
 
That was just a few of the things made. As you can see not everyone stuck to the bunting theme but everyone had a lovely day and are all keen for Nikki to return.

 

Quite a weekend

No one could say we've been idle at Crafty Angel this weekend. Saturday saw us run a beginners crochet class. This is such a popular craft right now and it was great to get another group of ladies able to go away knowing enough to get them up and running, finishing the face cloths they began in the class, and armed with all the info they needed to move onto bigger projects when their confidence had grown a little.

 

 
We had 7 eager to learn, and I'm pleased to say they all cracked it. Well done girls.
