Melt down What a joy it was to stick my nose out of the duvet this morning and not suffer frost bite! What a pleasure to feed all the animals and not have to defrost their water. I can't honestly remember the last time my kitchen wasn't littered with defrosting receptacles of one kind or another! And further joy, when I realised the holly was no long frozen in a solid icy block of water and I could make wreaths. They'll be in the shop later today. We still have a little Mistletoe left too, if you need any.

Open as usual It was definitely a job for a trusty little 4x4 this morning to deliver the papers and take the dogs for a walk. If you are venturing out, the main road is OK. Not cleared, but compacted enough for careful driving. Forget the side roads though unless you have an off road vehicle. Otherwise, Angels & Petals will be open, so perhaps you can do all today's shopping in Hatherleigh?
