Two Angels - angels & petals AND crafty angel

A look back at my year

January was a snowy month. We began preparing for moving Angels & Petals from Bridge Street to Deacons House.
 
 

 
Squeezing it all in was a challenge. The most stressful week of the year, without a doubt, but it worked in the end.

 
March was foggy & icy and our thoughts turned to knitting.

 

 
Finally Spring arrived and the days were warm and sunny.

 
And on one of those sunny days - a certain little girl arrived.

 
Knit & Natter thrived and became a twice weekly slot in the calendar of Hatherleigh's discerning women!

 

 Workshops became a regular fixture too. We had many a creative moment - and many more are planned for next year.

 
Summer arrived and we all enjoyed some lovely days and some VERY wet ones too!

 
The Under The Sea knitting exhibition came to Devon. Love it or hate it - it was a work of art.

 

Our K&N girls who grow their own, were incredibly generous with their produce. Marvellous!

I visited Chagford show and was inspired to have us all enter something in 2011.

 

 In the middle of a very hot spell came the bathroom bliss workshop. Foot soaks were a necessity!

 
The end of summer saw the shop freshly painted and looking good.

 
I was so proud of the K&N girls when we held our blanket exhibition. It was a stunning display and so well received by the visitors.

  
 

Before we knew it, it was Carnival time again, complete with morning after hunt and town criers.

 
Christmas stock followed rapidly after the carnival procession had moved on.

 
And so that brings us to December, which as we will probably always remember had a proper Christmassy end to the month, cold snowy and so bright.

So there we are, 2010 over & 2011 about to begin. So it just leaves me to wish you all a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR and I look forward to seeing you in the shop, at K&N, a workshop or maybe just out walking on the Moor.

Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday and Santa brought just what you wanted (or you manage to pick it up in the Sales later this week!). We've been out this afternoon burning off a few calories, ready for the obligatory Boxing day curry.

Blow up husband anyone??

So, as you can see our K&N task for the New Year is to knit the poor chap some clothing!

Angels & Petals (Crafty Angel) will be open today Monday 20th December, Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd Morning only, Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th December.
We will then close for Christmas holidays and re open Tuesday 4th January.
PLEASE DO KNOCK FOR JANE SHOULD YOU WISH ANYTHING AT ANY OTHER reasonable(!) TIME.

It was definitely a job for a trusty little 4x4 this morning to deliver the papers and take the dogs for a walk.

 
If you are venturing out, the main road is OK. Not cleared, but compacted enough for careful driving. Forget the side roads though unless you have an off road vehicle.

Otherwise, Angels & Petals will be open, so perhaps you can do all today's shopping in Hatherleigh?

Melt down

What a joy it was to stick my nose out of the duvet this morning and not suffer frost bite!

What a pleasure to feed all the animals and not have to defrost their water. I can't honestly remember the last time my kitchen wasn't littered with defrosting receptacles of one kind or another!

And further joy, when I realised the holly was no long frozen in a solid icy block of water and I could make wreaths.

 
They'll be in the shop later today. We still have a little Mistletoe left too, if you need any.

Maybe you often wander into the shop for a browse. Maybe you peek through the window but have never ventured in. Maybe you live too far away to call in. No matter how infrequently you visit, a warm reception always awaits you.

 As you can see we have a huge selection of goodies.

 This is our workshop/knit & natter table. Many a tale this table could tell!

 And a good selection of yarn from most of the major companies

 Kits, ribbons, general haberdashery and lots of inspirational books.

We are open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. I'm often there on a Monday too. Any other time just knock on Jane's door. She really doesn't mind! A notice on the shop door will help you find her.

Knit & Natter is held 7.30pm every Tuesday & Thursday. A full programme of workshops is available too, to keep us all busy through the winter.

Is there anyone out there who would be interested in a monthly spinning club???
I know there are a number of people locally who do spin, or would like to learn and I thought if we met once month in Hatherleigh, we might be able to learn from each other?
Anyone think this is a good idea???
